Then I switched to using only stable versions because the betas had too many bugs. Today I'm refusing to install any updates which are not open source. There's an 80% chance that the system gets slower from unnecessary bloat and a 20% chance that someone fucks up the update and the system doesn't boot at all.

You see on the timeline when an ad is approaching. Usually they come at a reasonable time e.g. in-between a change of scenes. I'm paying effectively 4 bucks a month for the whole catalog and it seems like they upped the bitrate on linux/firefox because the artifacts are gone and black levels are actually quite good now. Even better on a TV screen.
