Have any of you in #datascience implemented an AI platform in your operations? Are you willing to share a synopsis of how it went? I love SAS, but I know it would be hard to hand something off from SQL to SAS just to have SAS do a *HUGE* equation (e.g., PHREG - which is not AI - I know), and give the results back to SQL to process. But maybe that's not how it happens? Any insight is appreciated!

I just published this video on how to document your ETL pipeline (focusing on research datasets). I'd love to hear reactions - especially if anyone out there is actively using SAS Data Integration Studio to build & run regular "jobs" (pipelines).
Enjoy your day! 😀

This toot is aimed at #academia & #academic authors. I have very recently decided that Wiley - the publisher - is acting enough like a predatory publisher to earn a place on my personal blacklist. Please read my blog post where I explain what happened to a colleague of mine recently, and why I think you should avoid submitting a manuscript to them until they clean up their act.

The title of this video is "The Death of the Data Science Role", but it's actually about the evolution of business intelligence (BI) as a field into data science (from the POV of a person who was doing BI originally).
I found it interesting because the "pontificating statisticians" he's talking about that we don't need anymore are probably "me" 🤔 It's a short video - what do you think? Is it reasonable to expect one person to design/implement a whole AI pipeline?

It is about 1) the problem of rebranding yourself from a #publichealth or #healthcare professional into a data scientist, and 2) the new mentoring program I'm starting.
Obviously, I'm excited about recruiting for my mentoring program - but actually, I'd just be happy to discuss this pain point. I am seeing a lot of "youngsters & oldsters" in the field on here following me who I think could give excellent feedback!

“If you think about it… the notion that you’re going to take an artificial intelligence tool, expose it to data on patients who were cared for on the upper east side of Manhattan, and then use that information and the insights derived from it to treat patients in China, is ridiculous.”
