Windows installation is getting worse and worse. I had to install it for a family member and windows 11 now requires a microsoft account....

Windows installation is getting worse and worse. I had to install it for a family member and windows 11 now requires a microsoft account. There is no listed option to do a local account. One workaround is to enter a wrong email and password to be able to create a local acount. WTF?

TIL: if your NAS drives usually spin down for a long time during the day and they don't anymore you may have installed smartmontools and some services in your system think it's clever to call smartctl regularly and wake up the disks again 🤦‍♂️

And no it was not only smartd... I decided to uninstall smartmontools as I don't have time to debug who is calling it.
