Well, the Oblivion Remaster doesn't look ugly or anything. It's actually pretty nice, but it's a shame my RTX 3070 is starting to show its age. It's playable on Medium settings for me on 4K.

Holy cow, this was a bit tricky. Earlier tonight, I had found some "Space Quest" disk images from an old Apple IIgs. I wanted to check them out in ScummVM.

First, I had to find a way to extract the data from these A2R images, then rename and collect all of the necessary files. Took me quite a while to get the in-game music playing, but in the end ... everything worked! The game's soundtrack on the IIgs is glorious! It's even better than what's possible on the Amiga!

I wanted to play the original "Leisure Suit Larry in The Land of the Lounge Lizards" and figured it would be best to try the Amiga version.

I know, it's an adult game and .. it shows. You cannot boot directly from the Kickstarter ROM and it also doesn't work from Amiga OS 3.x. No! It wants you to run it from the classic Workbench 1.3.3! From then, it's just glorious!

Hab heute mal nen kleinen Selbstversuch gemacht und - bei wirklich schönem Frühlingswetter - sämtliche Besorgungen und Einkäufe, die ich heute vorhatte, per Fahrrad gemacht, statt wie sonst mit dem Auto. Also ich war kurz im Büro um dort die Getränkevorräte aufzufüllen, war im Baumarkt und dann noch normal einkaufen in zwei, drei Geschäften.

Normal hätte ich das alles in max. zwei Stunden erledigt. Heute...war ich jetzt von 12 bis fast 19 Uhr unterwegs. Klar, war mit ein paar Pausen. Aber... "ufff!"... Ich bin platt!

Im Jahre 1999 veröffentlichte Microsoft einen Haufen kritischer Jahr-2000 Updates und Patches für ihre Software. Aus heutiger Sicht wichtig war v.a. auch der fehlerbereinigte Datei-Manager WINFILE.EXE unter Windows 3.1 und WfW 3.11, der so angepasst auch 2025 noch problemlos funktionert.

Da ich hierfür endlich auch eine richtige physische Quelle haben wollte, hab ich mir nun mal die offizielle Microsoft Jahr 2000 Ressourcen CD besorgt. Es handelt sich um die finale Version dieser Disc vom November 1999.
