Okay, THAT was annoying... seriously! This afternoon, I had received a fresh set of SimCity Graphics disks for the Amiga. "Ancient Cities" and "Future Cities". They looked and read okay, but - whatever I tried - I could NOT get them to work in WinUAE. I felt so stupid. Only after several hours I realized these disks were not compatible with SimCity 1.2, at all! These were the SimCity Graphics for SimCity512K! After that revelation... yes, of course, it worked!

I just added Version 2.2, Interpreter 2.426, 3.5" / 720K as a copy protected TeleDisk disk image. It works!

This has always been a bit confusing to me: The original Sim City "Graphics Pack 1 - Ancient Cities" was also known as "Architecture 2" in its European release. At the same time, it always contained the same three graphic themes: "Ancient Asia", "Medieval Times" and "Wild West".

Funktioniert wunderbar mit IBM DOS-Version 3.30!

Originale Hüllen und Handbücher inkl. 3,5 + 5,25Zoll Disketten mit IBM DOS 3.30, ein OEM Set mit MS-DOS 3.30, sowie eine Startdiskette für einen IBM Model 30-286. Alles blitzsauber und praktisch wie neu. Die Datenträger sind perfekt lesbar. Gekostet hat mich das ganze Paket lediglich ca. 22€ mit Versand. Stammt angeblich aus einer alten Firmenauflösung.

Sowas nenn' ich ein "Schnäppchen"! 😎

Die große Schachtel mit Windows/386 2.11 ist vorhin endlich bei mir angekommen. Komplett mit Handbüchern und 3.5 Zoll Disketten. Deutsche Version, extrem selten und anscheinend bisher auch noch überhaupt nirgends im Netz archiviert.

Konnte die Disketten gerade kurz testen. Sieht sehr gut aus und anscheinend funktioniert auch alles. Sobald ich später mehr Zeit habe, lade ich natürlich alles ins Internet Archive hoch.

Today, I re-installed Windows 11 onto one of my laptops and, as expected, everything went smoothly and without issue. At this point, it is just a very basic setup without any apps, games or data. Still, this freshly installed system already consumes over 50GB of precious disk space! Seriously! It already uses 59.078.078.464 Bytes!

I know. It's 2025 and this isn't Windows 3.1 or 98SE anymore. It's Windows 11. I know. But... this is still... so... f'ing... crazy!!!

As I could not find it anywhere online, I just spent a good amount of money on this German release of Windows/386, version 2.11. Back in 1989, this was the last official release before Windows 3.0 took over the world, about a year later.

I really hope these 720K disks will be readable on one of my 3.5 inch drives! 😅
