It's been a fun exercise. The proxmox ansible community playbooks are well done in general, but there are some rough edges that require you to use the root user directly to setup things even if there are ways to setup priviledged accounts and API keys to interact with the system in the platform.

Lately I've been setting up a homeserver using proxmox and ansible on a machine that I built from the discarded pieces of my gaming PC after I upgraded it.

My plan is to setup everything in lxc containers running Fedora. For now I just have some bare containers for a community discord bot and a container for ramalama, but I do plan to setup some utilities for my home ^^.

To be able to achieve this, I had to soft-change my timezone activity to GMT+9 😅 . IMHO it was a better option than trying to wake up at 3:30 am CLT 😖.

I don't regret anything 😁!!

"Is the instance administration trustworthy enough to host your online data properly and to give moderation privileges over your messages?" is not a question a search engine will answer, and for me at least this is the biggest friction point to create an account in a small server.
