And now to some recent joy that prompted me to write this: Earlier this year I had the most euphoric compersion I’ve received to date. Even though we’re not partners (also in the circumstance group, like the person I quoted above 🥺), their joy has been my joy, and I’m totally here for it! I’m new to opening myself up to such feelings so this was wonderful to experience. (3/3)

For example I get it for my partners, people I would love to have as my partners but circumstances prevent it, my friends, and even people I don’t know very well but have interacted with to the degree that they’re good acquaintances. If you’re not poly, you probably do still feel compersion without knowing that’s what it is.
