Now that I have a lot more free time (laid off last week), I think I'm going to finally get around to studying German and improving my level of French.

I've used ASSIMIL for a few languages so far with good results. I bought the German edition several years ago with the plan of learning I shortly thereafter. Now to find my external DVD/CD drive to copy all of the audio to my laptop and phone.

I'm glad to have spent my birthday yesterday at a #HandsOff event. After a shitty week of the usual dread caused by the current regime and getting laid off, seeing thousands of people together for a shared cause was cathartic.

Now, I need to figure out what to do with my time- I definitely need a short break, but then I plan to focus on improving my physical fitness and prepping for tech interviews 🫠

hey all- here's my #introduction! i'm dino, i work in tech and have a background in various fields like GIS, backend web and platform dev, and machine learning. i am currently moving as much of my digital persona away from big tech as possible, with a focus on privacy/security.
outside of tech, i'm interested in languages- i have seriously studied norwegian, italian, and french; i'm studying spanish now; and i've also dabbled in at least a dozen other languages for fun.
