I haven’t seen Phantom Menace since it was released 25 years ago. I’m showing it to my kids since they were scared/bored by A New Hope....

I haven’t seen Phantom Menace since it was released 25 years ago. I’m showing it to my kids since they were scared/bored by A New Hope. I went into this very open minded, thinking that it couldn’t be as bad as the Red Letter Media reviews had reminded me (somewhat) more recently.

I’ve also grown up and don’t take joy in excessively criticizing the work of others.

Color me astounded with just how bad the movie is.

The plot is incredibly thin with much of it conveyed solely through dreadfully bland dialogue. You might think that was done to make it easier for children to understand, but the lack of other clues or supporting scenes means young kids can’t follow the story.

Much of those dialog scenes are shot as singles and cut together like a bargain bin TV drama that shot tons of coverage so they could write the story in editing.
