Last night I installed Kubuntu and was having the same issue, so I decided to dive in a little further. The main problem seemed to revolve around having my games on a separate NTFS drive (installed on ext4 they worked fine). After mounting the drive properly (still NTFS) and making a couple symlinks to my ext4 drive I was able to get things up and running! Pretty exciting that I can boot into W10 or Linux and play my whole library either way

Several hours in, I'm quite enjoying the experience. The only negative so far is that I've been having trouble getting games to work (I do have an Nvidia card...).
I have 3 drives on my PC, one for OS that's split between W10 and Manjaro and the other two are for games. Steam recognizes the libraries in those drives and some games work fine (Portal 1), but some don't launch at all (Steam Play enabled and tried multiple Proton versions, but mainly Proton Experimental)
