”During mating, not only does the female eat the male, but the male actually assists her in this process by flipping his body towards her so that he is closer to her mouthparts. Because the cannibalistic process is so slow, mating continues until the male succumbs to his injuries."

After a busy and hot day in Rome, we flew from Rome to Prague.
Prague was much friendlier, we did a walking tour, followed by a "Beer and Culture Tour" which included brewery tours and a local dinner.
After that it was off to Pilsen for the Pilsenfest, 181 years since the first Pils Lager was brewed.
We tried unfiltered, unpasteurised Pilsener Urquell. It lacked all the bitterness from the bottled version.
Turns out Ashahi owns all the breweries here too...

We got the local bus back to Foggia, then the express train to Naples.
We had dinner at another Pizzaria, it came out in minutes this time, these guys were *professionals*.
We took the local trains to Pompeii and Hercleneum. I was able to enter for only 2€ as I had my Irish passport.
For lunch was locally brewed Peroni and fresh sandwiches with local toppings - Outstanding!
Next up was another express train (shinkansen) to Rome!

Sant'Agnata di Puglia is a historic commune built on a mountain. The monastery at the peak was a popular travellers stop.
We had the most authentic pizza whilst watching the local football. It was the first time I had actually enjoyed the game. It was a tight match with a winning goal by the local team in the last few minutes.
Celebrations all round.
Even though it was a remote town, the square still had free wifi, which was a godsend - for us.
@rongbat hiked to a ghost town.

We travelled across the countryside of Greece to the port of Patras.
We had bought tickets on the "Superfast II" to Bari, Italy. This was cheaper than flying, but turned into 16 hours of sitting in airplane seats anyhow.
Once we got to Bari, we had a quick espresso, which was the best I had ever had. Then it was a fast train to Foggia, the regional train station near our destination; Sant'Agnata di Puglia.
We were picked up by a lovely local who didn't speak a lick of english.

#Athens was busy.
We were at a very budget-friendly Students Inn. We could hear the late night acoustic trios and a faint smell of sewage but you get what you pay for (the location).
The graffiti written in english shows gentrification is a big issue, we had fun debating which of the tags like NO HIPSTERS, TOURISTS GO HOME, KILL AIRBNB applied to us.
We learned the history of the city state through it's coins, pottery, weapons, furniture, architechture, religion and politics.
