Apparently there are no good #gcc tools to find unnecessary header includes in #CPP while using ninja/cmake (and NOTE not being the author of the build system)

A lot of you guys are #programmers what's the right tool here?

I don't need something that complains about every external include not found, just local symbols without having to recompile everything.

I think there is a Dunning–Kruger like effect whereby the complexity of rewriting an open source project from scratch is vastly underestimated the less you know about the scope of the work.

You could make 80% of #inkscape in a couple of months of javascripting. But this is 80% of Inkscape's surface. Not actual depth.

Rewrite it all in #Qt? #React? #JS? #Rust? These are ideas aren't bad. But they are vast projects that would cost millions of dollars.

The problem is; I have an artists eye for code design and ugly, overly complex, under-tested and worse than all of those asymmetric code makes me all itchy.

Tonight's refactoring: No, version strings should not be parsed and saved by some weird third party function.

This is the first serious warm day/night with the new heat-pump system here in #Boston and it is proving itself to be a major quality of life improvement.

It's quiet. It sits there in multiple rooms and those rooms feel gloriously cool.

No more lugging window AC units, avoiding holding the vent side, with ill-fitting gaps to close off with tape. Just a house that manages it's temperature. ❤️
