Supposedly 15% of First Republic’s revenues came from their wealth management business - 200 financial advisors, $270 billion + in assets. And that asset base was probably custodied outside of the bank, at firms like Pershing.

But it doesn’t matter. You cannot work for a famously insolvent bank and offer financial advice to anyone. Picture having to deliver that pitch yourself. Ridiculous.

So when the stories of large advisor teams leaving FRC started to hit, I knew it was over.
