📣 #DeathByPowerpoint is not actually PowerPoint's fault.

If you want to create visually engaging presentations, the solution isn't to look for a new app.

You're just as likely to create bad slides in Canva, Prezi, or Google slides. 👏

PPT is actually a great tool...If you use it right. 😉😁

A lot of academics think scripting their talk will make them sound unnatural. Like a robot.

Nope! I bust that myth in the beginning of this video.

Or, people think I'm talking about a full on dress rehearsal.

Who has time for that? That's not what I mean.

In the vid, I explain how to script/practice without it taking any (or much) more time.

It ~will~ become easier.
You ~will~ get better at it. 💪
One day, you might even love it. 😍

You're not doomed forever. Hang in there. Keep presenting! 👏

Because here's the real secret 🤫 there's no such thing as a "natural speaker". That's just scripting, practicing, and experience.

Fewer slides leads to all kinds of problems from too info much on a slide, small font sizes, and more.

So, together let's that advice and throw it in the bin 🗑️💪.

Use as many slides as you want.

I've seen a few posts already suggested that replies should be unlisted so as not to clog the timeline.

But I don't see that as an option on the Mastodon app? Unless I'm missing it?

I tried The Google but only got results for doing unlisted videos in YouTube.
