I’m glad that I went a bit out of my way to the other local #bagel shop. Not that the closer one was bad. Either of them are better than #chain store or #supermarket bagels. I’m spoiled for choice. But I still miss the shop from my childhood…they really knew how to get the crust right.

You would think that an oven control panel would be able to withstand the rising heat from a hot oven below it being open for a minute or so...

You would think that an oven control panel would be able to withstand the rising heat from a hot oven below it being open for a minute or so as the person using it shuffled things around.

I would think that too, but not only did the oven shut off, the stovetop fell utterly non-functional until the panel cooled enough for anything to start working again. Everything flickered back to life as circuits once opened were closed, and vice-versa.
