Time goes by so fast, I haven't had as much time to work on my own game as I'd hoped 😢.
Oh well, at least I think I have a clearer direction now. I've been doing more research and I'm also thinking about trying my hand at making tilesets in aseprite instead of using temp assets. I'm no artist but pixel art seems fun.
Of course #godot 4.3 releases one week after I start a project in 4.2. I think I’ll finish up the inventory system I’m working on and then see how easy it is to switch over. The improvements for 2D seem really nice, especially with tile maps and parallax backgrounds.

Now that I'm done with school for good, I have the time to make it real. #godot is so fun to work with and I'm already proud of myself with the progress I've made working on it little by little for a few days.

The ability to change folder colors is something I never knew I needed in a game engine

I might work on the same project in #unity and #godot to see which I like better, but I’m going to be more wary of Unity from now on. I’ll probably stick with Godot in the long term. There’s no guarantee Unity won’t try something sneaky again in the future.

Personally, I think this is acceptable, though I think it’s a bit weird that they’re still trying to include the runtime fee in some capacity rather than just have the 2.5% revenue share. I think there would’ve been less anger if unity had started with the revenue share.

Personally, I think...This #unity runtime fee stuff is seriously weird. It's so unnecessary and I feel like 20 cents a download can really add up, especially for indie devs.
Now I'm kinda glad I wasn't too deep into actual Unity development on my personal project. Seriously considering switching to #godotengine now.

New instance, new introduction!
Hi everybody! I am an aspiring/amateur game developer hoping to make friends with others in the #gamedev community. Though I don’t use social media very much, I want to engage more.
I usually like open world rpg games, but I also play many other genres. School’s got me busy but I hope to create my own #games for people to enjoy!

Hello! I decided to migrate from mas.to to the gamedev server, so for my very few followers of my previous vimmagic account on mas.to, I live here now! With a name that I feel fits me better.
