Distraction tonight comes from #crochet. It's a fiddly little pattern new to me. Gauging never seems to work (? yarn might be too thin), so I'm adjusting the pattern instead crossing fingers and hoping. I love crochet and #yarn and it's supposed to be relaxing but some days crochet causes tachycardia. I'd love to know why. The thing I've not seen or found yet for long covid is support for children of parents with Long Covid. There must be 1000s of children coping with the "I'm sorry, I can't, I need to rest right now", "sorry I can't do x I'm saving up spoons for y". Not to mention that the guilt, family support etc that goes along with this that doesn't get mentioned in articles on LC. Wondering what it might look like.

Question for the #nodig #gardeners out there. I'm noticing good moisture retention under plants where there's a variety of "weeds" or nature's companion plants. If I changed these areas to #nodig e.g. put down card, mulch, compost around raspberries, would I get good ground level moisture retention to equal the "weedy" patches?

On a similar note I'm finding that homemade #compost has way better water retention than shop bought. Just need to increase production- freecycled shredder should help!

Feeling the climate grief this week despite the life all around. With a temperature intolerant #ChronicIllness I'm thoughtful of #ClimateChange and the disappearing life-as-we-know-it. This morning this gal has made countless trips to the pond to collect wet nesting material; perhaps a second or third brood? (UK) She also treated herself to a bath after an hour of hard work.
