I had real trouble with that description, which I had to put in the first scene. She has a voice which I struggle to find the right words to describe. It's not a weird voice at all, but it is distinctive. Also, it entirely depends on her mood and the interlocutors.

Even more difficult, she has multiple personalities, and they all have different voices!

So, for 3rd p narrator, I just do otherworldly and neutral.

She is an actress. I have not found anyone who looks exactly like her though. Several have come close, and maybe some kind of photofit thing might work, like 'a bit of that person, but this person's nose' that kind of thing.

I have seen the whole thing in my head of course so there is a lot of cinematic stuff going on.

She also has lots of actor friends.

No log but no forget. They have an annoying tendency to keep cropping up again on re-reading.

Second bit - I usually feel up for it in the morning after my third cup of coffee - so I have to be self-disciplined and leave my inbox alone. It lasts about 2-3 hours usually, but sometimes all day.

Maybe it's a post-dreaming hypnogogia-caffeine thing.

Final advice for myself - take as much opportunity to dissociate and daydream as possible.

Writers should receive a cost of living allowance so they don't have to work! I call it liberal socialism...

Never got any advice - at least none that I followed. But that's just my "I'm not going to do what anyone else tells me to do" thing.

Best advice I know is to just instinctively know when you are going to write something good, tell everyone else not to disturb you, don't get distracted, and do it. Not always possible, of course.
