The dream was a post-apocalyptic dream, something about like yokai (a lot more like actual mythological ones than Touhou's take, but they could disguise themselves as human) having killed most humans and the ones remaining bunkered in small settlements. To enter a settlement from the outside you had to go through rigorous testing. And it was about a couple travelers that fought off yokai using razor wire traps

Also each settlement had a zen garden checkpoint, because yokai can't enter them?
