3.7.2023 22:26Diagonal pixel sorting in Hong Kong #hongkong #GenerativeArt #CellularAutomataProgress! I've characterized my #CellularAutomata rule family for pixel flow ... there are 2^(2^6) different possibilities! Visually I've seen stargates, cheese graters, borgs, cities, trees, and Matrix (like the flow of letters in The Matrix).
Here's one of my favorites ... I call it "City in the Stars". Follow for more #GenerativeArt - at some point the tool will be stable enough to open up to alpha users.

The exciting thing is it runs on the web, and soon anyone will be able to try this and much more!

The...Fun with #CellularAutomata ... the rule uses a Margolis Neighborhood, a block of four pixels. Each block is rotated so that the brightest pixels are on the bottom. Then it runs again with the squares offset diagonally. #GenerativeArt #generative https://joyhughes.github.io/gravitate.html

Playing a little more with #GenerativePhotography L-systems. I think this one looks like coral, so I might put it into an undersea scene.
I have some ideas on how to animate it - keep it the same size and rooted in one spot, but send waves along the stem and branches that increase with smaller size so they start to spiral at the ends...
All made with C++ code I've written myself!
