"As soon as you reach the bottom you can always dig" starter pack
7.4.2025 07:56"As soon as you reach the bottom you can always dig" starter packIt's interesting seeing who until yesterday was underlining the importance of "Defending the dignity of artists forced to write WOKE stories" starting to share AI-Generated images in the style of Studio Gibli, shitting on Hayao Miyazaki's will.
Another proof that what they wanted to defend was being able to live in their own dwelling of ignorance and intollerance.
And the MLB season is underway. Enjoying the Tokyo series!

Now escuse me: I'm about to bash my head against the wall. Repeatedly.
Suffering an intense meltdown that downs you for a few days is always a bad experience.
Now I don't know if I should be happy it went away, or sad because it lasted this long.
Crossover I didn't know I wanted.
15.2.2025 13:01Crossover I didn't know I wanted.I started last week watching "Emilia Perez" and ended it watching "I Saw the TV Glow".
The world is a magic place once again, and peace between cinema and me has blossomed once again.
Watch it if you haven't done it yet. Watch it again if you have. In these times, when trans experience is demonized or ridiculed, a movie linking it to something that everyone can live in their life Is a blessing.
Seing in a group of autistic people, some of them with crippling disabilities, someone supporting private sanity with sentences such as "I don't want to pay for other people's misfortunes" has been alarming.
We can't get out of this phase intact getting rid of our empathy and thinking only about ourselves. This is the right moment to build a place where we can be as safe as possible: it's when we get out of our self-imposed obligation to perform better than other people that we can create a better world. For ourselves as well as for the others.
It took quite a bit for me to digest the vision of Emilia Perez. I'm glad to have seen a trans actress playing the role of a pre-transitioned character, but that's about it.
This is a 13 Oscar nominations musical. Really? With an appalling depiction of Mexican culture, underlined by translation horrors? With scenes barely linked and songs starting out of nowhere with no reason for existing?
Calling the trans representation problematic is using a euphemism. No, powerful scenes like "Por Casualidad" are not enough. This movie is just another sop given to a few minority groups so the academy can pat itself on the back. It makes me feel empty with the realization that there's ways to go before we can see a decent representation in a mainstream work of art.
Tonight's the night. I'm ready with an open mind. My inner critic has gone to the gym to lift and prepare (added bonus: he couldn't bother me as I was writing) and now the time has come.
I'm ready to see Emilia Perez with a few friends of mine.
Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.
Good day, everybody. I'm Gepi, an Italian non binary actor and writer. This is my Mastodon english account, and I plan to write about my passions, like role playing games, writing (maybe sharing sokme of my works), and whatever I happen to read and watch. As an autistic person I'm quite principled, so I'll post something political from time to time.
Anyways, it's nice to meet you. I hope to make tons of great connections here. Have a great day!
