This week, I wrote about a pretty interesting topic, #genetherapies - which by the way are not really a new thing.

Although they have been investigated by the pharmaceutical sector since the 1990s, it was only in 2012 that the first gene therapy was approved in the EU market.

Until now, only 23 products based on genetically modified cells have been authorised in Europe.

EU countries did not reach the necessary qualified majority to extend the expiring authorisation of #glyphosate for an extra year.

The European Commission will now proceed to adopt the regulation even without the member states' go-ahead, extending the approval period of #glyphosate by 1 year - that is 15 December 2023
