Race and STOP MAKING SENSE

One of my favorite artists, Chad Clark of Beauty Pill, wrote a thoughtful essay titled 'TAKE ME TO THE RIVER' AND THE ESSENTIAL BLACKNESS OF STOP MAKING SENSE.

He beautifully describes how the 9-person ensemble in the concert film matters to him as a Black man, and how it influenced the live version of their cover. Any paraphrasing by me can't do justice to his essay.

I think the only way to read it is to follow Beauty Pill on Bandcamp, which I recommend anyway.
