14.1.2025 13:49Has the much touted “Boy Scout Rule” ever actually improved quality?I’m reading the Lord of the Rings to my 10 year old daughter. She is (quite rightly) annoyed that Goldberry is the first female character we’ve encountered.
To correct Tolkien’s mistake, in my telling Merry and Sam are now using she/her pronouns and Pippin is using they/them.
I do not expect this to change the impact or meaning of the story at all.

More seriously, why aren’t journalists making this point about the worst prime minister of the modern era? Personally, I’m loving it.
