Finally drew something again.

Just me and my dog, since that's all I've really been focused on lately.
Always enjoy catching a nice weekend morning to sit on the hiking trails and listen to the nature sounds.
Other than that, just trying to get out more to places and events I used to enjoy.

Never needed a muzzle, which is always my goal, can't stand them. Even got some kisses and a happy tail by the end of it, not a single bite the whole time. If I was at a normal salon, I know I wouldn't get these opportunities to put my trainer skills to use and help teach a troubled dog how to trust.

That was just such a nice tender experience. Really felt rewarding. I hope he keeps making positives steps forward since I can tell he can change for the better.

Spent over an hour with this one dog. First in his kennel to let him adjust to me, then slowly getting him across the building into my room, several coworkers onlooking from far away, as if I was wearing a bomb.

But it was rewarding to me to be able to see the subtle ways his body language would shift from high alert to a bit more at ease. The process may have taken a dozen of extra steps to slowly brace him for each step in a bath, which already is a high stress situation for a dog.

While it would be nice to work at a normal salon to learn grooming in a more typical way, I'm really enjoying the more unique opportunities I get through where I'm at.

Today, a highly aggressive dog was being sent home due to his temperament being too extreme and I was asked to bathe the dog, only IF possible, so that he'd at least be cleaner when going home later. Me being me, a fucking lunatic, absolutely took it on because I enjoy working with challenging bad dogs like him.
