We've got a drama on BBC 1 over Christmas. It's based on Andrew O'Hagan's brilliant book 'Mayflies' and I feel very privileged to have been asked to write it. It's about love, loss, life long friendship and facing the truth about our own mortality. My partner Simon died 4 years ago so working on it was deeply cathartic.

My pal Claire and I have just come off a shoot and we're knackered. So we treated ourselves to an overnight stay in the Sheraton in Edinburgh and a wallow in their spa yesterday morning. Because we're worth it. (Copyright somebody else) And I would highly recommend. Edinburgers, you don't have to stay in the hotel to use the spa.

So, I write screenplays for film and tv. Currently in post for a 2 hour BBC drama adapted from Andrew O'Hagan's beautiful book 'Mayflies'. I can be found on IMDB and the Curtis Brown website. And on Twitter.

I'm attached to the bird because I met my partner Simon N Ricketts on there. He died almost 4 years ago but he's still remembered over there. So I'll stay for now.
