How to connect the Bluesky and Fediverse (Mastodon and soon others) networks?

“Discoverable opt-in,” where users on one side of the bridge must ask to follow accounts on the other side of the bridge. That triggers a one-time pop-up request for all future connections.

I was just trying to read an interesting article from New Scientist about magma chambers as a potential new source of energy. A few paragraphs into the piece, I ran into a paywall prompting me to subscribe. Like most, I ended up not reading the article.

Subscriptions only work for certain media outlets. I would have gladly paid $1-3 to continue reading but that wasn't an option.

The Uber algorithmic squeeze: Prior to 2022, driver payments were a function of what passengers paid. New algorithms now tailor pricing based on what individual customers would be willing to pay and individual drivers are willing to offer.

In part, he blames “corporate passion”: mega IP trying to cash in by finding stories for its IP. Instead of the way it should be: stories using the canvas of IP to tell a story. In part, that’s true.

But (Andor & Guardians of the Galaxy 3) are stories that use the IP as its canvas. And in both cases, they are deeply sincere. Sincerity doesn’t entail it has to be serious: just that the goal is to tell a story first.

The world is greatly in need of new solutions, many of which lie in crypto-economics and blockchain technology.

Sadly, these tools are still badly misunderstood by the public.

We need a new translation layer to bridge this gap.

If English is a sort of de facto lingua franca, it is primarily because England dominated the trading world when the industrial revolution occurred and commerce exploded.

Trade is the greatest point of peaceful contact between nation states, and thus language bridges often form around trading communities.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingua

But English is just the latest and greatest of these bridge languages -- so far.

Who knows what the future will hold?!
