Windows users, if you downloaded from gimp.org, there’s now a -rev1.exe new installer that fixes a problem with python plug-ins not working for some users.

It also enables the “Check for updates” button so you’ll get notified if there are updates automatically next time you start GIMP (no personal data is stored)

If you used the MS Store you’ll get an update automatically.

In any case, I can assure you we didn't publish anything on our website. I did verify as soon as I read your previous message, because yeah mistakes can happen (we wouldn't try to "hide" this, it's not "shameful" or anything). It didn't.

In fact anyone can verify since publication is tied with a public repository whose history cannot be rewritten. That's this branch: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/gimp-web/-/commits/master
As you can see, no updates for more than 2 weeks, and no GIMP 3 news in particular. 🙂

In fact, quite the opposite, I suggested a theory of what could be the source of the mistake: some people have been mistaking our testing website with the real one and spreading links by mistake. And your screenshot confirms this. Look at the URL. This is the testing website, not the main one. 😉

~14 more reports to close (of course, this number fluctuates up and down as we progress, but our rhythm is good so far!) before RC3. 🧑‍💻

If you don't do so, you will be stuck on an ancient build without ever getting an update since we changed the AppID (it allows to see both stable and nightly versions side by side in your desktop).
