After a whole day of reinstalling macOS, I've gone to https://www.azul.com/core-post-download/?endpoint=zulu&uuid=cf6e06ec-c897-4b5a-9859-e1c547ff5864 and downloaded Azul, dragged that into my libraries folder and set r to look there. I now have 3 versions of Java which I'm sure is going to bite me down the line, but for now it works.

Can any #rstats friends have an apple #M1 (or M2) and might be able to advise using #rJava ? I cannot seem to load packages that worked fine...

Can any #rstats friends have an apple #M1 (or M2) and might be able to advise using #rJava ? I cannot seem to load packages that worked fine on my intel based Mac. I think part of the problem is it is looking in the wrong place for Java? and the incompatible architecture... #coding

Imposter syndrome is crippling. A friend told me I had some of the worst #impostersyndrome of anyone they knew. And I…took it as a huge compliment. Because I don’t feel like an imposter. Imposters have to be skilled. I don’t say this for sympathy, or people to say nice things. Just to show that everyone experiences it. So if you look at my posts or know me in real life and think I’ve got it together, I don’t 😂. I try to convince myself I’m deserving and I don’t always succeed. But we move 🤷‍♀️

It was so surreal, to walk around without my Star of David on, to find this unassuming and run down jewish cemetery in the midst of tall buildings in Penang. I'm glad I found it.

What struck me was the visitor book, which asks for a message, name, and nationality.
The majority of nationalities written were 'Israeli', in a country that doesn't allow those on an israeli passport to enter, or regognise the state of Israel as a country.

Baghdadi Jews settled in Penang in the early 19th century, to explore trade opportunities. There was a synagogue in #Penang, which is now a cafe. I didn’t fancy having coffee there so went off in search of the Jewish cemetery of Penang. Picture of the old synagogue not mine.

Fair pay and better working conditions, particularly for ECR who suffer precarious contracts. There are so many dedicated staff, wanting to make a great student experience. Universities exploit this.
