I am considering making a Twitter account only because there is a very big fight for justice in #Serbia and I have no way of following it here. I hate that place and I don't want to go near it but unfortunately fedi is not a place where I can follow everything.

This is the most important fight for Serbian democracy in this century, all the universities have been completely blocked by their students, teachers are planning a unionized strike and I can't find a single mention on here...

I really loved #gnome ecosystem and the idea of #dontthememyapp, writing good looking gtk apps is very easy and they follow system theme and accent colors automatically.

But my love grew even more once I was forced to use #qt for a project. How do developers even use this? It looks ugly, both on Fedora Gnome and using Nix, doesn't follow the dark/light theme or accent colors and everything I tried searching about qt themes needs 5 different programs to be installed or only work with qt quick

I don't even know why this is any news to me, I just lived in a naive world where I thought "surely google won't send any personal data home if I don't use any of their services right", I don't know how naive I was, but here we are.

I just hope that @postmarketOS will succeed in their mission and that there will be a third, private, mobile OS that I can trust, but unfortunately there isn't a different option yet

I am very happy with my 3600x and I don't plan to replace it in a long time and I know she would be very happy with a similar performance. 16gb of ram can be acquired for as low as 40€ and everything else adds up to about 200€.

I am very pleasantly surprised with what you can get with as low as 200€ in 2024. A few years ago you wouldn't be able to get anything usable for that price. I might advise her to spend a bit more for a quality power supply, but that depends on what budget she ends up going for (she didn't know how much she should spend so I am making the cheapest possible example)

I have an old android tablet stuck on Android 4.2, wanted to try and use it as a Spotify remote, but alas nothing I tried seemed to work. No custom ROMs with a newer Android version ever released since it had a really hard to break bootloader for the time, and once it was broken it was too late for anyone to tinker with. There seems to be a booting @postmarketOS build that I'll try tomorrow, but I am not aware of a way to use a Linux device as a Spotify remote yet
