So, after looking at some instances, I decided to set up my own. There's some interesting instances out there, but either they've defederated from instances some of my friends are on, or they are behind cloudflare (cloudflare are nazi's in case you didn't know), or whatever. If you want it done well, you have to do it yourself I guess :)

I'll be setting it up a bit more and then move this account to the new instance (chasmcity.net), but I see people are already following me :)

Can't decide whether to cancel my subscription to Asimov's Science Fiction. It's been a great magazine and I've discovered many great writers through its pages, but as of late the ratio of filler vs actual good stories seems to skew heavily towards the former (not to mention the 'Homage to Elon Musk' in the latest edition which made me barf).

So, like any well-thinking and sane individual, I'm asking the internet:
should I cancel my subscription?

It's so beautiful outside. We went for a short walk around the house this afternoon. I love how last week's snow, the frost on the trees and the grey sky conspire to create a monochrome landscape. And it is oh so quiet.
