If you normalize using the population in 2019 and 1999, the numbers are +22.5% in 'incidence' and a reduction of 12% in mortality. Much different, and more reasonable given the medical advances in detection and treatment of the last 30 years.

Not sure if I am misunderstanding something, but their reported 79% increase is based on dividing the absolute number of early-onset cancers (or deaths) in 2019 by those in 1999?

I can't see any adjustment for population or anything similar.
