also saw this extremely mangled tree, that looks like someone has just scribbled frantically with the branch-drawing cursor half way through making it.

Yesterday I went to visit the site of the Hardy Tree, in Saint Pancras Old Church yard. The author Thomas Hardy was an architecture student in the 1860s when the station and railway lines were being built, disrupting multiple graves. Hardy was tasked with doing something with the gravestones, so built a strange circular monument with a tree at its centre.
I read a year or two ago that the tree had either died or been damaged and had to be removed - this was the first time I'd been back since. Its roots are still entangled between the headstones.

fun session switching out the kick drum on this track and layering a new hi-hat and some FX. basically just set everything up then hit record and let it do its thing. kind of like re-amping but with a low pass gate and a hacked karaoke delay.

Our second game of Forgotten Waters yesterday - enjoyable narrative pirate game, exploring dangerous waters and visiting a merfolk king and a sea witch.

fabric shopping with Laura today - she pointed out that these ones looked like a bunch of people dressed as colourful ghosts. Couldn't unsee it then!

can't believe there's a nautical bookshop in London and it's just round the corner from my house.
(I own quite a few nautical books, particularly about the golden age of piracy)
