The constant race to the bottom on terminology continues. Augmented Reality now apparently includes just having a screen in the way of some of reality. Rather than enhancing reality contextually.

In dot net, more and more people realise you need to warm up the app before benchmarking. Or at least know to use benchmark dot net to do it for them. But do you honestly warm up before you (sample) profile? You should!
I'm just setting up jetbrains' profiler api to automatically do this for my project to find out why it takes 50% longer to run moving dot net 6 to 7. I currently suspect I'm hitting the slow case for the vectorization improvements in Sum.

All electric heaters are 100% efficient in the sense all the electricity turns into heat, so I'm a bit baffled to read this in #TheGuardian : "Electric heaters are also expensive to run. Even a relatively efficient Dyson fan heater"
Is that just some low key advertising or is there something I'm missing, like spreading the heat more evenly faster so a lower temperature is likely to be used?

It's totally free and open source - based on Roslyn. It may not surprise you to hear I'm also a big fan of C# and interested in language/compiler design.
As in many areas, the tech people I see get the most attention are often those touting extremes. I aspire to be more of a pragmatist - use what's right for the scenario, don't follow dogma without understanding what problems it solves.
