I played guitar before I had kids, but it was almost all chords and I skipped the solos and single-string plucking stuff because I always got lost trying to play along with music.
I bought Rocksmith 18 months ago to get back into playing, and I've gotten a lot better at all aspects of guitar. It's challenging, but has a well-designed learning curve. Still a long way to go, but better than I ever was before!

It was a great way to break up the day, lose myself in the music, and build a skill.
When I started my current job 6 weeks ago, I threw myself into it and hadn't made the time for guitar. I did today for the first time since I started, and wow, does it feel like all synapses are firing!

Any suggestions?

I also happen to know that the hiring manager is pretty great to work for! (It's me!)

Unlike the other times, when the distance was part of my training for something else, I had to work up to it for this race. It wasn't fast (because it's a brutal, hilly course), but I finished it still feeling good!

For 6th graders, they really embraced the way I wanted to play, and every one of the 9 boys hand in us winning.
Today, I got a "thank you" card from one of the players and his parents. Not gonna lie, but I got a little bit choked up. I consider it a privilege to be able to coach these boys as they become men, and it means a lot when they appreciate it. It's nice to know I'm making a difference.

Helps address something I've been missing on this platform.

I end up watching the OK GO Needing/Getting video probably once every 3-6 months.
Besides being a great song, the creativity is astounding, not to mention the dedication and execution.
Just an inspiring work that also brings me joy.

It's awesome that the social justice and tech reporters are here, but if that's all you've got, it can get bleak.
While I have high hopes for the fediverse, I get why some people aren't sticking around or joining in. It's almost in that uncanny valley of being familiar, but not quite right for what many people are searching for in a birdsite alternative.

1) Getting started is a bit frustrating. People want it to be a 1:1 swap for birdsite, but there's a lot of people missing, so it feels like starting from scratch.
2) On most servers, the local and federated timelines are just firehoses. I want to open them up to explore, but I can hardly read a few words on a toot before the next 8 pop up. It's certainly overwhelming.

Glass Onion (the Knives Out sequel) was a fun watch, scathingly sardonic, and looks like it was a blast to make.
Seriously, just keep feeding me Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc and I'll be there.

I am a veteran Product Manager (11+ years) and Product Management Leader (5+ years) who loves solving customer problems and developing new Product Managers. I've transformed several organizations in different domains to unlock their potential.
I'm a software developer by training, and but don't write production code anymore. Instead, I put more time and energy into coaching youth sports and enjoying music, either listening, playing guitar, or checking out concerts.
