Yesterday we may have narrowly averted an electrical fire when we noticed that the outlet with the living room AC was very hot to the touch. Electrician will be out tomorrow afternoon to look at things, then we get to figure out the game plan going forward.

In the meantime we're down an entire AC unit during a week-long heatwave, wooooooooo.

On a related note (as it were), was Antarctica a meme of some sort in pop music circles around 1989-1990? This (Duran Duran's LIBERTY) is one of two 1990-release records that include slow-to-mid-tempo tracks in my library with that continent in the name.

(The other one's Midnight Oil's quite good BLUE SKY MINING... with the vastly superior south-pole-centric tune, by the by.)
