I'm beginning to wonder if @threads never actually planned for two-way federation. They just wanted to go "hey look how cool our platform is, you can't interact with any of these accounts unless you register with us" and hoped that would get everyone onto their thing. The problem, of course, is that this is the Fediverse we're talking about, so I don't think it's working.

I appreciate how you’ve made the magazines proper group objects, so they can be viewed in lemmy and whatnot. one small suggestion: lock the magazines to new posts by non-admins (not comments) and then set the “owner” of the group as an admin. that’s what @peertube does and it works quite well, otherwise you risk software getting confused when people are able to make new posts in the magazines.
