Reviewing a lot of ITIL v4 material for work at the moment as we are adopting as part of a new "operating model" and I am helping set up an Infrastructure and Platform Management Practice.
Seems that not a lot of large companies have progressed much yet so not so much using best practice from industry frameworks as creating it.
Really appreciating modern text to speech tools such as https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/ and the amazing new feature from Google (link below) hat can turn source material in rather realistic sounding two-hander podcasts to give me options for how I digest some of the material.

Useful when you've not got a lot of spare desk space but do have a few servers around. I used a spare Raspberry Pi as one for a while before repurposing it.
A new low-cost RISC-V based offering reviewed by @geerlingguy looks really promising and hopefully we shall see far more cheap options.

Increasingly when I comment using such content, often tweaked for the specific situation, I am accused of sharing ChatGPT to generate the text. Argh!!

6.7.2024 10:49Taking the brand a bit too seriously#dominos #Shrewsbury #scooters #motorcyclesFairly new to modern board gaming, but, alongside my wife, thoroughly enjoyed first experience of #UKGamesExpo at the National Exibition Centre (#NEC) in Birmingham, UK, today. Too tired to stay on to midnight. It is running tomorrow and Sunday as well. Three halls and a hotel being used. Found it overwhelming.
Bought a few games. Hope we made good choices.

Seven weeks I've been waiting for an e20.8 Play Pro ebike from Bridgetown Cycles in Cannock (@btownbikes on the other place).
https://electroheads.com/blogs/e-bike-reviews/estarli-e20-8-play-pro-review.
It is one of very few ebikes, all folding, that will fit my wife's vertically challenge form (147cm vs my 188cm, in case you wondered).
Bikes for short women (or men) are not that common.

Well, so far, just playing Cities Skylines 2 (stable for me on latest patch, without mods, on my mid-range gaming laptop with all graphics high).

In this case, when my other half needed a replacement M5 wing nut for their tapestry frame.
Handy as Screwfix were out of stock at the local stores so would have had to wait a day for them or Amazon to deliver.

I know there are still tens of millions of active users and the pending IPO is over subscribed, but it just isn't what it was.
The effective removal of most apps leaving us with their dreadful own app was really annoying. I paid to use the Relay for Reddit app for a while but didn't really like the money being passed through to Reddit for the api calls.
I don't object to paying for services but didn't like the approach reddit took.
So time to lean into the fediverse more. Just need to figure where to post all the guides I wrote for Python learners over the years.

(Let's ignore the 500cc Piagio MP3 three wheeler tilting scooter that I'd commuted on for a few years).
Hasn't really been a step down.

Is there a way for the user to set the date format? Looked all through options, and language settings (wanting English UK), and can't find anywhere. The short version shows mm/dd rather than dd/mm, which is very confusing in the early months (e.g. is it third of February or second of March).

Sigh! All were irritating.
Glad of charging stations that just work contactless.
Frustrated as hell with those that only work with an app and required lots of setup on weak mobile signal.
I wish providers collaborated.

The world's largest arts festival, with thousands of shows by artists from around the globe running daily covering dance, theatre, music, comedy, and much more besides was huge fun.
We saw dozens of shows in less than a week. Exhausting, but worth it.
Delighted to have seen so many new acts early in their careers. Laughed and cried most days.
