So, I'm carting kids around. It's my son's birthday so we ask his boyfriend if he wants to come over for cake and ice cream. He says sure, but we need to stop by his parent's house for him to double-check and drop some things off.

I pull into his driveway and both of his parents are loading their car for something. I kind of panic, because I'd actually met his parents around a year ago before I'd come out.

His dad comes over to say hi. I'm panicking. My son is panicking. My son's boyfriend ran into the house and then had a sudden panicking realization.

My daughter, on the other hand, is playing on her phone and blissfully ignorant of any possible tension, bless her heart.

Luckily, I passed and I don't think he ended up suspecting anything. Kid's boyfriend hopped back in the car and we skedaddled back to our place for cake and ice cream. I made my wife drive him home afterward.
