I'm interested in analyzing the stomach content of American mink (Neogale vison) in Iceland. I currently have a lot of material to work with and results from visual analysis but I'm interested in seeing how those results compare with eDNA results. I have experience in analyzing eDNA data but I would like to be able to design my own eDNA project. I would be really thankful for advice if anyone knows of a good training opportunity or a short course. My e-mail is hafrun@nsv.is

I graduated with a master's degree in biology from The University of Iceland where my main focus was bioinformatics and statistical ecology. I recently started working for The West Iceland Nature Research Centre (www.nsv.is)
I’m excited about implementing the use of metabarcoding to monitor biodiversity and hopeful I could start a PhD on this topic with the resources we have at the Research Center.

In Iceland, there is a growing interest in kelp harvesting and I have heard a great deal about kelp being an unused resource for manufacturing. In this context, I think it's important to highlight the value of kelp forests as an ecosystem and as a carbon sink
