This song came out in 1990, 2 years before I started high school. Freshman year, I met Kelly in the library, where we both spent most of our time. She became my best friend almost immediately, and she introduced me to #TMBG. “Flood” became one of the soundtrack albums of my high school years. This song especially takes me back (Kelly wrote some of the lyrics on my beloved black Chuck Taylors that I wore nearly every day) and it still makes me smile. I’m also going to get a tattoo at some point based on one of the lyrics. It’s about as perfectly weird, wonderful, and joy-inducing as a song can be.

Feeling like lukewarm garbage today - despite being in bed for 13+ hours last night, I only slept for about 7. That was without Ambien, though, so maybe not bad in the grand scheme? Feels like I’m could be coming down with something, though, so I’m gonna take it real easy the next few days.

On the bright side, I had to pop out and run some errands yesterday and I looked (imo) cute as heck. If there’s one thing I adore about being in my 40’s, it’s that my #selfesteem and #confidence concerning who I am and how I look, has skyrocketed. I wish I’d liked myself this much when I was in my 20’s!
