Has anyone (maybe at the #38C3) successfully connected their #iDotMatrix #pixel display to their #homeassistant ? I envision to control it directly with an #esp32 and sending signals via WiFi through an integration. I only got the display the day before yesterday and haven't even started... Don't want to reinvent the wheel.

That is such a disgrace. Don't know if there is any coverage outside of Germany, but the German research minister tried to defund scientists, because they signed a controversial but totally legal open letter in relation to student protests about the Israel conflict. You might not share their opinion, but you can not silence them by cutting their funds. 🤯 Personally I think this is a much bigger scandal, than it gets attention.

Suprised to find out, that all the free software services for #mx @emblhamburg are now closed down (or only accessible from inside?). Have used the ArpWarp server often within my MX-courses 😟 Luckily ,we just bought new PCs, which are well capable of running ArpWarp 😮‍💨 For clarity: I am greaful for all the years @emblhamburg provided the services 👍 was just surprised after so many years.

This year’s #Crystallography course might be the last, learning experimental phasing with gold derivatives. It's not finally decided, but I guess next year I will reorganise our course to a more "integrative structural biology" approach. Somehow, I feel slightly SAD, not to teach SIRAS, MIR and SIR anymore. But it's very hard to explain why students will still need it in the future 🤷
