It’s been the first fine weather at the weekend for months. The privet hedge in front has badly needed trimming, so I’ve just done it. Rewarding myself with a “pint” (500ml) of Hacker-Pschorr Oktober Märzen.

When I stayed in Munich 40 years ago, the Hacker-Pschorr outlet had the best cheap food in the city. The beer isn’t half bad either (though on the whole I prefer Spaten).
