I just recently watched the old mission impossible movie (1996).

In the movie the main character has to steal a list of CIA employees from the most secure terminal on earth. And it's treated as info worth millions of dollars.

I was thinking about that when I read the articles about Musk just hooking up a server and spamming emails to the entire CIA.

I like guile but trying to diagnose these archaic errors feels so frustrating sometimes.

Still trying to find an elegant method to pin dependency #guix packages for use in my personal channel.

I don't want to constantly have to revisit the channel packages when `gnu packages` itself updates, but it seems like pinning specific commits in dependencies to the `.guix-channel` file creates some kind of limbo state and makes for a lot of errors.

Maybe I should try experimenting with inferiors in the package input sections instead.

Going through #beancount's documentation and being overwhelmed when it's supposed to be the "easier" of the #plaintextaccounting tools (compared to #ledger) makes me feel a lot of trepidation for trying to set this up.

Almost all the documentation for these tools seems to assume you already have a file set up with your accounts information to some degree.

Apparently applications that use fontconfig from nix can't follow the double symlink paths from `.guix-home/profile` so they need to have the `/gnu/store` paths in `<dir>` directives?

I'm not sure if this is a #nix or #guix bug
