Trying a new thing today for personal #privacy and #infosec: using rsync on locally encrypted devices instead of relying on iCloud for encrypted backups.

In part, it’s a response to recent events with the UK & Apple, Meta’s random account deletion, plus my increasing distrust of any company to protect my data and privacy. At this point, I’d rather be responsible for my data.

We recently adopted a 90 pound behemoth who is such a sweet spirit.

He’s finally opening up, too, after nearly 3 weeks of shyness. He takes toys and treats now and he plays so well with his sister, a 60 pound tank.

When we got him, he was really malnourished, had some teeth fall out (he’s a year old), chained outside full-time in desert heat and was going to animal control. But never again for this one. He’s home.
