I would like to share once more the Nebraska Democratic Party’s recommendations on the ballot measures. In particular, anyone who believes that a woman should be free to follow her own conscience on the question of abortion, and anyone who believes that a doctor should be free to practice modern medicine when it comes to reproductive health care, should vote AGAINST initiative 434 and FOR initiative 439.

How many Americans are ready to abandon democracy for Christian nationalism? I don’t know what to expect in November. I think it is possible we’ll be surprised at how big Biden’s win is, but nothing can be left to chance. What’s left of the GOP will stop at nothing to get their would be dictator back into office.

I’ve never believed in a candidate more strongly, and nothing would make me happier than our district, #NE02, finally dumping Congressman Don Bacon and sending Tony to Congress. Not mentioned in the article is that Bacon has joined his extremist Republican House colleagues in launching a bogus, baseless impeachment inquiry into President Biden, who won our district in 2020. #Omaha #Nebraska

Signs of hope in all that the Biden administration is achieving in the Middle East. Signs of hope in increasing scrutiny of Trump allies leading up to the insurrection. Signs of hope that powerful forces in the GOP might be turning from Christian nationalism to traditional GOP big business libertarianism. (I would still fight big business Republicans tooth and nail, but they appall me less, as a Christian and as an American, than Christian nationalists.)

Gov. Youngkin of VA pushed a 15-week abortion ban as a moderate measure,

“But voters, who are still angry at the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which protected abortion rights until about 24 weeks, after fetal abnormalities are evident, rejected the suggestion they should settle for a smaller piece of what they feel has been taken from them by extremists on the Supreme Court.”

Roe v. Wade was reasonable and humane. May we still see it get written into law by Congress!
