In my TTRPG facebook group, I've made a post gently discouraging people from using "homebrew" in favor of more specific language, so they can get more useful, targeted advice.

The post has 100+ comments, at least half of which are people insisting one of half a dozen or more uses of "homebrew" is correct and that's why we shouldn't encourage people to use more specific language.
