Of course for my cyber security masters we did a little bit of brute forcing, packet tracing, swl injection, but I've never done anything more interesting. It was mostly documentation, social engineering, and realizing that people are really insecure. It was more... Office career less bug bounty.

All I learned was control structures and how to learn/teach myself. That's great and all but I feel like for the amount of $ you spend...

I finished my master's in 2021 and they were *still* having me zip up java and send it back, without tests.

Feel free to disagree with me, but like, for the $ we're not teaching useful things. Logic is easy. Syntax is easy.

Well, the solution to my #golang mocking issue is the fact that I called another package without an interface, making it impossible to easily intercept that call and just return a mock. It feels like a stupid mistake, but honestly I didn't need the interface *until* testing, so I just learned the real need for it: dependency injection/using interfaces improves testing.

I have two degrees, neither of which taught me useful things like version control or until testing.

Why? Why do we do that?
