The Tyne Pedestrian and Cycle tunnels, which were refurbed not so long ago. The original wooden escalators from 1951 are still there, though...

The Tyne Pedestrian and Cycle tunnels, which were refurbed not so long ago. The original wooden escalators from 1951 are still there, though they've taken one out per side. They don't move now but you still walk up/down them to access the tunnels (if you're not using the lift).

I wrote a Substack about this with some photographs and it's my first one for 10 months(!) so that probably makes it worth a look!
