I just hope other parents realize what could be going on and the effect it could be having.

so it's called for some unexpected parenting, what doesn't, but it's just surprising to me the world these kids are growing up in.

I like to think we're pretty online savvy, and we try to guide them to make good decisions, it's just a little unexpected how something so seemingly unconnected can result in a completely different experience.

Overall it's been positive, and probably resulted in more engagement, but there've been times that it's been less positive.

but here's the thing I didn't expect: there're a lot of social aspects built into the system. Things including likes & replies & followers, &tc.

Obviously the 10 year old doesn't have any social accounts, and I wasn't really prepared to see all of the good and bad parts of social networking play out in a programming environment.

They wake up every morning and check their notifications and followers count. They have interactions, some positive but some negative, with other users.
