Each time I go to a rave, I see the visuals and i really love them at first. But after a while I always wish that they were a bit more than just pre-rendered video sequences blended together... Why can't they be audio-reactive and stuff?
Possible use-case for my engine? :D
Been to a #livecoding event today. It was really cool and inspirational!
I really should give #supercollider another go soon.
Playing around and exploring #SDF rendering is so much fun!
While I'm still not sure if I like #toonshading on SDFs, I certainly love all the possibilities in terms of #boolean and domain-manipulation #spheretracing offers.
Been working on a #Unity game project for the past few days. To get into #Vim i'm using a VS plugin that allows me to use the #VimMotions
I was super slow at the beginning, but i'm starting to get faster now! :D
Omg, I love that feeling when something finally clicks inside your head after countless hours of frustration and not understanding the problem.
#Vulkan and especially #synchronization is FUN :)
At least I learned how to use validation layers and how fences work.
A Christmas miracle!!! I finally found the line of code in my #renderengine that was causing memory leaks on my Mac.
It's some weird #vulkan synchronization thingy that somehow doesn't run cleanly on #metal via #moltenVK.
Anyway, it's all running smoothly now!
Still working on my #Vulkan engine.
Have a very basic #raymarching scene running now :D
Next up will be adding #antialiasing
Never in my life has such an ugly sphere given me so much joy! My #CPP engine can finally run and display #computeShaders. It currently runs a static #sdf #raymarching program. The next step will be to clean up the architecture and connect the cpp scene to the shader.

At least im forced to learn more about build-specific flags now😅

I have been coding for over 6 years now, but for the past few weeks, I started using C++ and it keeps introducing me to new and beautiful concepts.
I absolutely love it!
Playing with some 3D #GaussianSplatting

Currently immersing myself in in-depth #research on the psychological theory of #FlowState for my #MixedReality project. The subjectivity of this concept is both captivating and challenging to fully grasp. 🧠💼

Switched to #Unity again for this because they just have by far the superior support for the #MetaQuest stuff.
Finally got #passthrough, #handtracking and #eyetracking up and running!
Getting #UE5 up and running with basic #VR features is super simple. But I've spend the entire day yesterday compiling different editor versions from the #oculus git repo to get passthrough, eye- and handtracking working for the QuestPro.
And no, it still isn't fully working.
But it is cool seeing the entire UE source code. I've spend some time during compiling times looking through the structre... It's huge and very complex, but at the same time extremely fascinating!
I'm brainstorming about special rendering techniques I could try to implement soon. But rather than just adding them to some list, I talk about them with #chatGPT, and I'm having such a blast! It instantly gives me things I need to consider and even some cool new ideas!
If I don't understand a problem/idea it points out to me, I can just ask about it and get a very useful explanation within my exact context and all! It truely feels like talking to a rendering expert!
This whole @unity debacle doesn't even affect me in theory. But it still has a strange aftertaste. So I think I'll give @unrealengine or maybe even @godotengine another try for my next few projects.
I'll also be getting into C++ next semester starting next week, where I plan to develop my own little engine anyway. So I'm already looking forward to it!

Today, I'm finally starting to work on a game-prototype I've had on my mind for a long time :)

I'm about to start the last year of my bachelor's degree in computer science. And for the first time in my life, I'm really scared and unsure of what my future will look like in 5-10 years. Was it all for nothing?
#AI #future #programming
For more than half my life, I've known that I wanted to learn programming, understand technology, and so on. For just as long, I've been working towards this goal, and for just as long, everyone has always said, "This is a future-proof industry.
But in recent months, leading people from this industry have started telling us that AI will replace all programmers very soon. The moment I first started to use Github Copilot, I've started loving, but at the same time fearing AI.

Here another render of my latest work.
